What Clients Say

Was at a Dodgers game when I saw another fan with a few banh mis from Banh Mi How Phat. Was intrigued as they were in a cardboard box vs. being wrapped in a piece of paper. A quick search revealed that this banh mi shop was sort of on my way to work. No better way to start the work week than with a banh mi for bfast. Called in my order as I was driving in and they were ready for me by the time I arrived. Though the crispy pork was awesome, I was expecting the pork skin to be crispier. The siu yook had the perfect fat to meat ratio. To be fair, I didn't eat the banh mi right away and I'm not sure how long they were sitting on the counter waiting for me to pick up. The bread had a nice crunch and the inside had a bit of a bite to it. Will have to come back and eat one in the store as well as to try their other sandwiches.

This is what a Vietnamese sandwich shop should be like. The shop was small but easily accessible. Moderately clean and full of people shoving Vietnamese Bahn Mi’s in their mouth without talking. No one is talking in the store except for the person taking orders and the people ordering. We tried three of their sandwiches, the “viral” crispy pork belly, the Dac Biet (combination), and the grilled pork. The grilled pork was the least interesting but was still very delicious. The crispy pork was definitely “viral” for a reason, and the combination was the stand out star. The combination is what a real Vietnamese sandwich should taste like. The ingredients were fresh, tasted natural without any neon colors, and the pate was smooth and delicious. The pickles were perfect without being sickly sweet and the bread was crispy and Goldilocks firm. The prices are extremely fair at around $7 for the regular sandwiches and $8 for the roasted pork belly. We ordered a few to go and the packaging was beautifully presented. The pickles were packaged separately from the cucumbers and herbs and the sandwich had a window that was reminiscent of a peep show in Amsterdam showing off a naughty little sandwich just waiting to be eaten. If not for the location being at the back end of a plaza with traffic being utterly stupid at all times, this place would be a destination sandwich shop for all to seek.

The best Bánh Mì Heo Quay in town! (Crispy Pork Belly Banh Mi) The pork belly skin is perfectly crunchy. The pâté and butter are unique and flavorful. Vegetables on the side are a nice touch, but it would be even better if they were added in, it makes the bánh mì full of flavor. The bread is crunchy on the outside and soft inside, holding everything together beautifully. Highly recommended for authentic Vietnamese bánh mì! Plus, the Rau Má (green veggie juice) is super fresh and refreshing.

The crispy pork sandwich was so delicious! The bread was so fresh - crispy on the outside and light and airy on the inside. The sandwich was stuffed generously with crispy pork. Veggies were wrapped separately to keep the bread from getting soggy. There is also a delicious sauce included for extra flavor. Each sandwich individually packed in a box. If you like Banh Mi, you must go. So good!

Super delicious crispy pork banh mi, haven't tried anything else on menu since I've had it. First time I had the crispy pork banh mi I didn't even put any of the toppings and sauce on it. Just ate the bread and crispy pork by itself. So so good! Highly recommend. Only downside is that they close early before dinner time.

We had an enjoyable lunch at Banh Mi Hoa Phat. Easy access and you get greeted by the delicious smells of fresh-baked bread (they bake it super early every morning!) The star of their menu is the crispy pork belly banh mi. Every banh mi is packaged to go, with a side of cilantro, carrot / daikon, jalapeño, and a delicious beefy onion consommé. The consommé was incredible and the meat is so good - only 2 bucks for extra meat option! Would absolutely come back, as this is some of the best banh mi in California!
